I thought the SFX was brilliant. I think ILM really stepped it up this time. I did notice some inconsistencies with some of the robots but overall they did an awesome job.

As for the movie though, I thought it was pretty horrible, but I still enjoyed it, if that makes any sense. It really is a typical Michael Bay movie. Anyone else get really dizzy with the whole 360 degree shots of Shia and Megan. Way to break the 180 degree rule. I almost threw up. Is it just me or is Michael Bay really that bad at directing?

Anybody had a chance to see this new revolutionary piece of technology coming soon from Microsoft?

To me this is some really space age plans and i love it. Can't wait to see it and have a hands on experience of it.

To anyone who hasn't seen it, its the new Xbox accessory coming from Microsoft. Like the Wii it detects the motion of the user, but this does it by looking out from 3D sensors which can see everything from depth of field, facial expressions and body movement. You don't even have to hold a controller. It also has voice recognition and will recognise you the moment you walk in front of it and say, "Start Call of Duty", or "View Messages".

To me, this is a million times better than the Wii because you have to use your whole body to control games, not just the hand and wrist. I'd like to see what Sony will come up with to rival it. My guess is that Microsoft could be heading towards game, set and match with this new technology.

Is this due to people leaving the company or just people not bothering coming on here.

Didn't know where to post this question really so I put it in here. Hope thats ok?

I'd like to start working on some solo projects of my own at home to develop my skills and wondered if there was any resource sites i could download high(ish) resolution architectural blueprints and plans to use as a base without the risk of anyone getting upset about it?

Ideally I would love to start with a football / soccer stadium as thats another of my passions and to combine the two would be a good start. But I wasn't sure if it was possible to get hold of anything like this without having to request permission or buy them etc.

Because we don't want to get sued for having unlicensed games installed, I think we should decide on a single game and have everybody attending buy a copy. Games like UT3 and 2004 are the most inexpensive and accessable while newer games like Call of Duty are more expensive and may be too complex for some (Rich).

My name is Stuart Shortland and im based in the Taunton PB office here in the UK, i have been using Autocad for 2D work and also some psuedo 3D, but i really want to get into 3D visualisation and modelling. I have spoken to a few people and they have pointed me in the right direction to get started.

Firefox Browser issues

I know a lot of you are using Firefox as your internet browser so I thought I should share an issue I've been noticing with Firefox, specifically with pbviz.com. The biggest is that the ability to upload images is not available in Firefox. With IE, I can browse for images locally or link via URL. Firefox only allows to link to images already on the net. See below:

Denon 7.1 AV Receiver/Amplifier + Denon Speakers (7+ Subwoofer) and

Harman Kardon 5.1 AV Receiver + JBL Speakers (5 + Subwoofer)

The price for HK is slightly more than Denon.

Has anyone tried or seen the new pb logo in grey scale or black and white? (for those who have seen it) It has been my experience that blue and green convert to grey scale about the same. I was just wondering if a scheme has been worked up to cover this aspect of the design. My main reason for asking is how the logo will look on black and white drawing borders.

Hi guys,

Well since us Aussies always get our toys late, this topic might be a bit dated for some.

The PS3 gets released here on the 23rd and I've gone and done something I've never done before and put a pre-order on one and to be honest I'm pretty keen to get one. Far better then an xbox 360 (Im sure there are alot who'll bite at that hehe).

Anyway I actually have a reason for posting this. I've done a little bit of reading up on the console and have found out that you can install and boot linux on it.

So my question is this, if the console is pretty much a computer - whats stopping from using it as a render box (i'm thinking for my own personal use, not corporate)? If so, how well do you think it will handle?

I know using these machines for their computing power is possible (see PS3 mini super computer) - so whats stopping from using it in a rendering environment?
