I've been working up a rendering of a oceanic windfarm.  It's sort of personal work, but could be used for various things within the company.  The water geometry was generated using Dreamscape and I like what's going on with the waves, but the water's material still isn't quite right.  I have blend material setup with multilevel noise for the main water, and a sea foam that's not very obvious in the rendering.

I'm going for a stormy feel.  Any all all comments welcome...

I really like the composition and the mood. I think the water should have some sharper crests here and there. Also, some dirt/weathering on the windmills and structure would add quite a bit to it. I have had great success with the vray dirt texture in diffuse. I use a pretty high contrast fractal noise in the radius and crank up the samples it really helps to add some grunge in the nooks and crannies. Sweet render!

I agree with the waves. I actually scaled then down in Z from what they were.  There's definitely something screwy with Dreamscapes scaling.  I had everything set up in feet w/ inches but the waves were Possiden enormous.

I'll gibe the v-ray dirt a try too.  It does need some weathering and seagull crap type details.  Maybe even some horizontal and vertical seams on it...

It doesn't feel wet! splashes and some water drops on the camera should help. and the waves need that white foam/bubbles where smaller waves have fallen.

Also a bigger motion blur on the blades, they don't have that moving feel.

and I would put a very small random rotation on all those instances, they all seem to be pointing in the EXACT same direction, in reality they wouldn't be, they would turn to the best position automatically. just a touch, not something you would notice but would help sell it better.

Ahoy mate....., very great job, the entire scene is so dramatic....I agree with all of the comments, more dirt, add seagulls add wet splashes.

Could also play with the perspective a bit since you're riding low and going for the drama shot. And dude, add Schmelkie floating by on a wave! Looks great.

The background is an HRDI that we purchased from Hyperfocal.  It's from the "Stormy" library.  I like it because it had the mood effect I was looking for.  One of my favorite natural lighting are the few minutes after a storm has passed in the early evening and the sun is illuminating everything underneath, even the bottom portions of the clouds.  The colors and contrast is absolutely amazing.  Gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.

I suppose I should post the final image...

I added a liottle foam on the waves in Photoshop.  I couldn't get the quality I wanted out of Dreamscape.

looks awesome, but i think you could probably lose the seagulls, they are just a distraction imo.

Nice picture tho, and love the mood, although im not sure if the blades would be lit up like that with the sky the way they are. perhaps overlaying some kind of reddish light on the blades to show the moody sky a bit more

These have their flaws too, but I have to look hard to find them.  Most are pretty good for our uses.  I do tend to res them down for reflection and ligting if I'm not using the same image for the environment.
