This project got turned off for awhile due to some site zoning constraints that had to be worked out. The tower had to be relocated in the end.

I believe this was the first image that I posted on pbviz.com. While the "multi-leg" design was more interesting to model, it did not get selected for construction. The design that will be built is below

All the foliage proxies were created using Onyx Trees and Advanced Painter and distributed using Forest Pro 3.

Nice!  I agree that truss is more fun to model and looks more interesting in renderings.  No sense arguing with municipalities over design.  Maybe it's to camera correction modifier (or an optical illusion) but it feels like it's leaning right...

The leaning water tower of Terrell...nice!

I never noticed that until you suggested it.

It's just an optical thing. She is hitting right angles on both sides.

I think it's optical too.  That's my only beef with paralax correction.  I think my brain wants it to foreshorten which results in some popping, hissing, and whirring.

Here is a rendering of the multi-leg tank on the original site. Back then I was just mapping grass using a Blend Material, Noise Map, and a touch of Bump. All of the background trees are just planes as well. The foreground trees have huge leaves! Good times though...
