So how many people actually come on here, i have looked through some of the sections and the most recent posts in some of them are from over a year ago?

Is this due to people leaving the company or just people not bothering coming on here.

Personally i come on every day to check and see whats gone on.

I think Claudio nailed it.  When we first started there was a lot of activity with lots of discussions.  The past year has been quiet due to a few reasons:

1) I've been a slacker getting newsletters and Image or the Week posts up (busy too, but it really doesn't take long to post something if I have images)

2) We've started to run out of discussion topics, although I think we could dig a little more.

3) Folks have been busy.

One of my goals for this year is to boost activity on the site.  Part of that is up to me and the rest of the admins, but really the site's destiny is in the hands of the members and their involvement.  All I can do is get them to the site.  If you look at some of the other sites like VizMasters and CG Architect, they have a vast amount of members and the percentage of those who are active is probably similar to ours.  We just have a lot fewer members.  If you visit AUGI's Design Visualization area, it's pretty similar in activity, perhaps more.

Interstingly enough, I have finally recieved some budget to and hours to develop this via PB's Office of Professional Practice.  I hope to use it to get members interested in visiting more often an to continue to develop the rest of the site.  With most corporate financing, I expect it to work slow, but I'll keep after them.

Thanks for the feedback!

No worries, im just surprised that people dont use it more and post more, even if its in the general off topic section just to get to know peeps.

Personally when i start using 3ds i will be asking lots of questions if i get stuck on stuff, so im glad that i was guided here by messer.

Thanks for the response.

thats fair enough to say read the manual, but with so many other software programmes people learn shorter ways to do things, eg autocad 09 manual will tell you to go through the draw menu at the top, however i use the keyboard to input commands. So i will come on here and ask questions, you dont have to answer.

You ask, and I'll be sure you get your answer.  I can walk across the hall and physically prod out some answers from people if I need to.

We'll get you to expert status in no time!

Most people forget or get busy.  I try to encourage members to subscribe to forums they are interested in so they'll be notified if someone post s topic in there.  The forum software we are currently using dosen't automatically subscribe members to their posts.  I kind of like to know if people have responded.  Something to look into. below is a link to another thread that explains how to subscribe:
