| I was wondering what training events are coming up that anyone has been to, and recommends? Autodesk University is in Nov-Dec... are there others that would be beneficial?

| I've always been a huge fan of AU. It will have courses more specific to our industry and you'll meet tons of AEC Viz folks. Most of the tracks are targeted at beginners, so I wouldn't expect to learn a ton from those. However, other benefits are networking and chatting with Autodesk developers. There are other cross-over classes that would be beneficial as well and wouldn't hurt to sit through to pick up some new skills. The VisMasters VMDC was pretty good with a focus on Architecture, but that could easily be translated to our specific techniques. However, they haven't had one for a couple years. Hopefully it will come back. SIGGRAPH is pretty slick and good experience, but doesn't havet too much that you can bring back to your work flow. What it's cool for is checking out the newest technology innovations. Networking and access to Autodesk is also a plus. Game Developers Conference is similar to SIGGRAPH where there is some cross-over in techniques from gaming to viz. Worth a trip every few years but more practical if your are working in real-time visualization.
