Is anyone having issues getting precalulated irradiance/light cache maps working with max 9 vray 1.5? The seattle office has been upgraded for less than a week, so I wonder if there is some new check box or new technique that I dont know about.

Mid last week (before upgrading) I was able to precalculate my light cache and then my irradiance map with ease.  Now, using the same steps to precalculate my maps, my renders are coming out dark.  It looks as if it were rendering without a secondary bounce.  This is all being rendered locally, my system is linking to the light maps though the full network path.  I've even had others look over my shoulder to verify I was following the correct steps.

I dont get it.  Has anyone else had this problem? Or is there something new about max 9 vray 1.5 that I dont know about?

thanks,

Geoff

Since I have yet to use the new V-Ray, this may be moot.  Have you done anything with gamma correction?

Yep its gamma corrected.  If I render it normal G.I., with no precalculated maps, it  looks fine.  I have issues when I start precalculating maps.

Another note I forgot to mention.. when using the precaclulated maps, the 1st frame will render out fine.  But every additional frame will render out dark.

Hey Geoff,

When you pre-calculate your map are you pre-calculating the ir map and light cache? If you pre-calculate both there is no reason to reload the light cache again when rendering the final. Just a thought, if you are re-loading both just try loading the ir map.
