I need some help with Mental Ray 3.5 on 3dsm9.
I'm getting too much color bleeding in the render. I can't seem to find out where to control this.
anyone?

| Whats up Chris. Are you using MR materials? If you use standard materials with mental ray you will end up with alot of color bleed. I havent used the new mental ray a whole lot but the Arch & Design material is pretty sweet. I believe there is a setting in that material that will controll color bleed. Not sure if that helped. -Brian

Hey Brian, yeah I"m using MR Mats with the Arc Template. I looked through there for a CBing option but didn't see anything....I'll look again...slower.
thanks.

| like I said I havent used the new one very much so there might not be a setting in there. In old versions I beleive you could use the mat override. The last project I used it for I used the DGS material exclusively because it was the only way I could find to controll color bleed. Also I believe the light energy has some effect on color bleed. My suggestion is to use Vray. Mental ray is alot better now but still very tempermental. -Brian

| Im using it now. The major issue with using the new Vray is the slow material editor which is a pain in the (BAD WORD), and the displacement bug. If you can handel the mat editor and not use displacement I think you should be fine.
