Ok, here is a strange one. I found that a MSO material that contains a material with an opacity map causes unwanted effects to materials with refraction in that MSO (namely glass). Here is a render straight out of Max 8 Vray 1.47:

And here is the same scene rendered in Max 9 Vray 1.5rc4:

The body of the car is one MSO with 13 material/IDs, the last of which is for the Honda logo and contains an opacity map. As you can see, the refraction in the glass is incorrect in this render. When I clear the opacity map from the Honda logo, the glass is fixed. The glass has a thickness of 1/8" and the material has real world IOR and is correct. So to fix this problem my solutions are: model the logo and apply a chrome mat. or detach the polys and apply the material with the opacity map as a separate material outside the MSO. This took lots of trouble shooting to isolate (Thanks Mark!!). Hope this gets fixed in next Vray release.

Ok, I posted the problem on Chaosgroup and found the workaround. You have to take your glass (or highly refractive) material in your MSO and turn it into a VrayBlend material (keep material as sub-material) with no coat materials (blending with nothing). Somehow this fixes it. Also another thing I found, there is a new checkbox in 1.5 under the Color Mapping drop-down: Sub-pixel mapping:

When unchecked materials with blurry reflections have undesirable effects.

It also sounds like the newer RC4 build doesn't have the problem. We might just need Vlado to send over the current build (the last rc4 I saw that we had was dated 2/16)
