Have you seen Spiderman-III? If so, how can we get the effect of that Sandman? It is fantastic!! Is it 3D or Photo-editing? ie, could anyone explain how to create an animation of a box out of loose sand particles?

Here are some videos on how the made some of the effects. There are a few of Sandman, but my favourite is the birth of Venom!!!! I'm not sure if these are any help to you, but they're interesting to watch.
